Rebecca Pickard

My career is centred around the IB; my teaching and management experience is balanced between the Diploma Programme and Career-related Programme. I have taught English Literature for nearly 20 years, focusing on the DP specifically since 2008. I have also taught and managed IB Film and amassed extensive experience in the Extended Essay too. In 2013, I became an Assistant Head of Sixth Form and IBCP coordinator for my own school as well as coordinating the initial CP pilot programme across schools in Kent as they worked towards IB authorization. I have also worked as an IB Workshop Developer, writing sessions for online and face to face workshops. I moved increasingly into IB consultancy in 2016, in addition to teaching full time, to work more closely with a wider network of schools as they prepare for authorization.   Since 2017, I have worked solely as a consultant, verification visitor and Lead Educator for the IB as well as a workshop leader for the DP, CP and Continuum - Leading the Learning and ‘What is an IB Education?’. In 2019, my textbook for the CP, ‘The Reflective Project’, was published by Hodder. In the past three years I have achieved a Distinction in my MA in English and American Literature as well as worked extensively with schools, students and teachers across the UK and Europe.
