About the workshop

This workshop is a "What is an IB Education" workshop and is suitable for all educators, IB coordinators and school leaders or decision makers at any point in their journey as life-long learners. It is also suitable for educators who do not teach IB programmes.

RECOMMENDED FOR: All teachers and school leaders who want to explore how to develop a whole school approach to wellbeing in their school.

How do we define wellbeing within our school community and implement strategies for wellbeing that will positively impact and empower students and educators? When students feel supported and mentally healthy, they are better equipped to engage in their studies, perform well academically, and form positive relationships with peers and teachers. Prioritizing wellbeing in schools not only promotes happier, healthier students but also lays the foundation for a more productive and inclusive educational experience. I

In this workshop, participants will explore how:

  • Prioritizing student wellbeing through investments of time, funds, and resources not only advances their overall welfare but also correlates with improved academic achievements.
  • Tailoring the definition of wellbeing to align with the specific context of each school is a recommended practice.
  • Recognizing that the wellbeing of teachers significantly influences the wellbeing of students underscores the importance of implementing policies that prioritize the support and wellbeing of educators.
  • Focusing on subjective wellbeing and overall satisfaction with school life offers a practical, measurable, and comprehensive approach. It provides schools with a concrete opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young individuals.
