Elissa Banas

Elissa (Elise) Banas resides in Buffalo, New York, USA. She is in her 11th year as the IB DP Coordinator at City Honors School, the honors magnet for the City of Buffalo's public school system. Elise has been part of IBEN since 2010 and is a site visitor, consultant, and both a face-to-face and online workshop leader.  She has led over 35 workshops, mainly in history and coordination. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo and a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. She was admitted to the New York State Bar after graduating from law school, but does not currently practice. Elise is fiercely proud of her hometown, Buffalo, New York. If you ask, she will share the many wonderful aspects of the city, and that it is famous for much more than Buffalo wings. She will also let you know that Buffalo is not located anywhere near New York City (a 650 km drive) and is actually located much closer to Niagara Falls (a 32 km drive) and Toronto (a 165 km drive).
