Andrew Watson

Originally from London, Andrew Watson is concurrently Director of the Jerusalem American School, a K-12 1000 student school in East Jerusalem; Director of Sustainability Education www.sused.org; an author, evaluation team leader and workshop leader for the International Baccalaureate (IB) and Chairman of the Governing Board of Albanian Colleges.  Trained as an Artist, he exhibited in London before entering international education in Jerusalem 24 years ago, since when he has worked across 4 continents in a wide variety of positions, from Head of Visual Arts, CAS, ToK and IB Diploma Coordinator to Principal, Director and Governing Board member and Chair. Andrew’s three main areas of expertise in education are: the leadership and development of new schools, leading professional development and developing education initiatives, including The Education & Sustainability Leadership Programme (ESLP) in partnership with United World Colleges (UWC), Cambridge and Cape Town Universities, and the Initiative for Education in Conflict Contexts (IECC) workshop, in partnership with UWC Mostar, where he served on the Governing Board between 2010 and 2016. He is a co-author of the IB Leadership Pathway and is a regular contributor to international education research and publications.
