Merion Taynton

A Londoner by birth and an Australian by marriage, Merion has been teaching IB English A since 2007. With both bachelor and master degree studies in literature, Merion has a passion for the written word, a passion she has shared with students in the Australian outback, Qatar, Kazakhstan, China and now the UK, as well as being experienced in programme coordination and curriculum development. Having recently returned to the UK, Merion is now working at a small school in Reading, Berkshire as well as continuing with her IB roles, such as examiner, workshop leader, and textbook writer and enjoying the green English countryside, a welcome change from Chinese smog. Merion has led many workshops, including English A Literature, English A Language and Literature, Approaches to Learning, and Concepts and Inquiry in the Diploma Programme. She has also led subject specific seminars in the new course guides for Literature and Language and Literature.
