Joe Hamkari

I am one of those third culture kids, as a child I moved between the UK and Jordan which wetted my appetite to go and experience the world and specifically its wild environments. I have been fortunate to dive in most of the seas in the world and walk in many of the biomes from deserts in Central Asia to the cloud forests of South America. I followed my passion at university studying zoology in Wales and discovered my other passion in life which is helping people both young and old to become effective, efficient and critical learners when I completed my teacher training at Christ Church College in Canterbury in the UK. As an educator I have worked in many countries including the Bahamas, Colombia, Kazakhstan, Qatar, China, Japan and now Germany. In Colombia I was introduced to the IB world and have now for over 20 years taught, run workshops examined and coordinated in both the DP and MYP programmes. I currently am teh Upper School Principal at an IB world school in Germany. In the non IB world I have run a variety of youth clubs, Duke of Edinburgh and International award programmes led and assisted with a range of expeditions for young people and taught diving in various parts of the world.
