Aaron Walker

My name is Aaron Walker and I am an MYP Physical Education and Health teacher at an Independent School just north of Toronto, Canada. I have been teaching the MYP for the last 10 years and have loved every minute it. I achieved my Masters of Teaching from Griffith University in the Gold Coast, Australia and while there got the opportunity to teach Physical Education to the Australian Aboriginals inland from Darwin. From there I started my career teaching the Canadian First nations people at a non-IB school in the far north of Canada. This was an eye opening and amazing experiences which brought me the world of IB and teaching in a more urban environment. On top of my teaching experience I am a MYP IB Workshop leader (have lead Category 1, 2 and 3 workshops in the IB Americas), a School Visit evaluator and have been working with the BQC in evaluating Physical Education and Health unit planners from around the world. On top of this I have hosted 2 MYP roundtables at my school focusing on assessment in Physical Education and Health and on Unit Planning. This has not only given me the opportunity to learn from others but I have been able to bring this knowledge and passion for the IB back to benefit my own students through the bettering of my teaching practice. I am always excited to meet new people and here and learn from people of varying backgrounds and experiences. This is what the IB is all about!
